Juan Mendoza Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial for Juan Mendoza, 64, of Hallsville, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church with Father J. Bruce Lincon officiating. Burial will follow in White Cemetery under the direction of Welch Funeral Home. Mr. Mendoza died on Sunday at a local medical center.

Mr. Mendoza was born October 20, 1944, in Tocaltiche, Mexico, to Jose and Antonia Garcia Mendoza. He was a member of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church. He was in the Hispanic Prayer Group.

Mr. Mendoza had worked for Auto Zone for 12 years. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus where he served as a knight.

Survivors include his brothers, Cecil Mendoza and Tony Mendoza, both of Hallsville, Joe L. Mendoza of Lake O' The Pines; sisters, Mickey M. Cervantes of Rosenburg, Texas, Julie M. Mendoza and Jane M. Mitchell both of Houston, Mary Hope Davila of Rosenburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A Rosary will be recited on today, March 18, 2009, at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, 4619 Judson Road.

uncle juan was a good man and we will miss him very much. he was loved by everyone he knew.he was well known as the one with the sleepy arms he could get any baby to calm down and go to sleep. now he is with god in heaven watching over us.
