Julia Duro Obituary
Julia F. Duro of Bethlehem Township, died on Friday, August 14, 2009 in St. Lukes Hospital, Bethlehem. She was born in Bethlehem and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Anna (Drozd) Poniktera and the widow of John S. Duro who died November 11, 1977. Julia worked for the former Hellertown Manufacturing Co. Champion Spark Plug in Hellertown retiring in 1982 after 18 years service. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem Township, and a member of St. Annes Little Helpers. Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Susan J. Sterner and husband Ronald of Bethlehem, and Carol Ann M. Dos Santos of Allentown; sisters, Helen Sklodowski of Hellertown and Bertha Donoso of Bethlehem Town- ship; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, seven brothers Frank, Walter, Stanley, Alex, Joseph, John and Edward Poniktera and a grandson Brian Dos Santos. Services: Friends may call at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Monday, August 17, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 8:15-9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd, Bethlehem Township, PA 18020. We are so sorry about the passing of your mother. She was such a nice lady and enjoyed talking to her at Namelia's B.D. party last year and playing Bingo at Cassidy's school. She will surely be missed by your whole family, but I know you have many good memories to look back upon.
