Dear Hartsock Family,

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss you've experienced. I remember when Kathy started her career with FCPS as a fellow special education teacher and we remained colleagues for many years. Kathy was always approachable and her leadership created a warm, caring climate in every school she served. I pray for the days ahead as you adjust to life without her and hope that she is in the loving arms of God.

I first met Kathy when she served as the principal of my childrens´ school. She was duly authoritative and professional, but when in her presence, my wife and I always felt honored by Kathy´s overwhelming warmth and grace. Her smile was more than comforting - it was as if she knew that the blessings of life were grand, and that she hoped that you would agree. Later, when working with Kathy, I found her to be simply joyful and fully committed to her profession and students. My experience with Kathy leaves wonderful memories, and it inspires me to emulate her wonderful qualities.
