Kathleen M. Unger

1947 - 2017

Kathleen M. Unger of Kingwood, TX passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 15, 2017. She was surrounded by friends and family. Kathy was born on November 19, 1947 in Allentown, PA, where she graduated from Southern Lehigh High School in Coopersburg, PA, and earned a Medical Assistant Degree from Lehigh County Community College. Survivors: A devout Catholic and devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert, her children Deacon Geoff Unger and Gretchen Currie, their spouses Gretchen Unger and John Currie, and her eleven (soon to be twelve) grandchildren, Frank, Jane, Ian, Robert, Anna, Claire, Peter, Luke, Mary Margaret, Joseph and George. She is also survived by her sisters Betty Miksits of Lanark, PA, and Terry Fidler of Reading, PA.TX. Services: A rosary and visitation will be celebrated at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Dripping Springs, TX on October 23 at 6:30 p.m.. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the same Church at 10:00 a.m. on October 24, with committal following at Phillip's Cemetery in Dripping Springs, Contributions: The family is requesting that any donations made in Kathy's remembrance be made to St. Martha's Catholic Church in Kingwood, TX, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Austin, TX, or the St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church Building to Heal Campaign in Dripping Springs, TX.
