Kenneth Merritt

I have only known Keith for about two years, and I remember the first time I met him. It was on Tuesday morning of the 2002 convention in Washington, when he came up to me and said, Ken I want to talk to you. Would you serve on my State Lecturer's Committee." I was honored to be asked, and Keith I hope I fulfilled my duties. You were great to work with and had every thing in order. "Well done good and faithful servant." I'll miss you, but I'll always remember the talk at Family Festival that we had. To Leon and Althea, and the rest of the family, here is a little Poem that I beleive is so comforting and true, "God saw He was getting Tired"

God saw he was getting tired

and a cure was not to be.

So he put his arms around him

And whispered, "Come to Me".

With tearful eyes we watched him suffer

And saw him fade away.

Although we loved him dearly,

We could not make him stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,

Hard working hands to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best. (author unknown)

Keith you will be greatly missed by all you've been in contact with, and my deepest condolences to Leon, Althea and the Grim Family.

Last October myself & three other members of our Grange attended the Annual State Grange Talent Festival and met Keith there. It didn't take much time to spot his enthusiasm and love for the Grange. He seemed to have a vision of what was best for the Members. I had a brief conversation with Keith on the phone and even though he didn't know me well, he searched for any ideas I might have on helping the Grange to thrive. He was blessed with a talent & we were lucky to have him as our State Lecturer. Our deepest sympathy,

What a wonderful friend! We will miss him and all his dedication to the Grange work. He was a man that truly organized his work and did an excellent job with it. Going to state sessions from here on will be a remembrance to me of my friend. He will truly be missed by me and I will miss all the little chats about the session and what we could maybe do to better it. As he lecturers the Great Grange above, may his message of love to friends be shared as we will all remember what he did for all of us. My heart is saddened by this loss, but I rejoice that he is in a better place, where his pain and suffering is no more and our prayers will be to see him some day again.

I cannot imagine Schnecksville Grange without our dear Keith. He and his family are Schnecksville Grange. I saw him in our office at work 2 weeks prior to his death. He looked good and was waving his arms and giving orders to our secretary of grange as usual. I stuck my head in the office and said hi and how are you doing. He never complained. He just kept going as much as he could. He gave his all up to the end. How can I go to the meetings with Keith missing? It will be so strange and difficult. I will be there though to support Leon and Althea and our other grange family. I am a fairly new member but Keith always included me in everything and made me feel welcome. I will miss you friend. My deepest smypathy goes to Leon, Althea and his family. God Bless You!

What a blessing it has been to work

with Keith and have him as part of

the state team. His commitment to the Grange is unquestionable. His strength through his illness and his intentions to still be an active

participant are most admirable. Our prayers are with his family and friends. We ask that God continue to walk this journey with them with constant love and reassurance. As God's children, we must come to the

realization that the human body can

only take so much. Sometimes in order to be healed, we must be taken back to God from where we came." Well done, good and faithful sevant". May the peace and love of Christ be with us all.

Our hearts are sadded by the loss of a wonderful friend and a very special person. Keith truly had his heart in the Grange and often gave suggestions during the preparations for the Sixth Degree to make the stage look just right. God gave Keith so many talents. We will miss his humor, his creative eye and especially his friendship. But, his pain is over and he awaits us in the Heavenly Kingdom. Our sincere sympathy to Leon, Althea and family. May God bring you comfort in your sorrow.

Leon, Althea and family - The service last Saturday evening was such a lovely tribute to all that Keith was - friend, Granger, church member, son, brother, uncle. The experience of participating in that event was an inspiration to many of us to follow Keith's example and work even harder in our own roles here on earth. Again, my deepest sympathies to all of you for your loss.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Grim Family. Keith was a hard worker, but also included humor with everything he did. He was a joy to be around. It is with great sadness that news of Brother Keith's departure from this earthly life was received. The virtues of the Grange: Faith, Hope, Charity and Fidelity were foundation blocks that Keith lived by and shared with those that he met. Though he is now with the Great Master of the Universe, our God and Saviour, Brother Keith will be missed in the roles that we are so used to finding him take a part.

May the Peace of God that passeth all understanding be upon Keith's family and friends through this time.

Our deepest sympathy and heartfelt thoughts go out to Keith's family who he treasured so much. Keith was such an amazing person. We will always remember all the fun we had together and how special he made our wedding by being the "Best Man," for he truely was "THE" Best Man to have for a friend. People pass on, but their memory lives on in our hearts forever and indeed our dearest Keith will remain in ours until we meet again. May God hold you in his arms and heal the sorrow that you feel.

We will all miss our quiet State Lecturer, Keith. We've known him for years because his brother is married to our niece and he often visited Lawrence County in W. PA to stay with the Michael Grim family. He was a special Uncle to the five children of Michael and Janice and the three children of Tim and Peggy. Our hearts go out to Leon and Althea. God Bless you all.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the Grim family.

Keith touched so many lives in his relatively short life, but has left a lasting impression in this world. He willingly and gladly volunteered his time to the Grange. Things just seemed to come alive when Keith was around. He brightened the lives of those who knew him. Even up until the end, he was still concerned about his Grange family. We are devastated by this loss, and will cherish our memories of him always.

A bright and shining star was extinguished here, but now shines on in the heavens above. This was part of God's plan - and someday those mysteries will be revealed to us as well.

We can truly say that you have labored well and give our tribute -

"Well Done Good and Faithful Servant" - we shall miss you immensely, our Grange friend.

I will miss this good Granger! Keith traveled with me to various workshops and conferences in the past. While traveling we talked about our families, and Grange work. Keith enjoyed his nephews and niece and told stories of how he entertained them.

Keith's attitude about others was always high on his list. He would often state, "My Mother taught me, 'If you can't say something nice, they you don't say anything at all.'"

I will cherish the memories Keith provided to me during his Grange career.
