Keith Wilcox Obituary

Keith Cornell Wilcox Sr., 66, of Houston, Texas, died peacefully in his home in Houston on October 20, 2004 after a prolonged battle with pulmonary/coronary disease. Keith was born July 22, 1938 in Walton, N.Y. to the Reverend Thomas and Frances Wilcox. The family moved to Allentown, where his parents continued to serve the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Keith attended Allen High School, playing center for the Canaries for three years. Keith graduated in 1956, served his country in the Navy for three years, returned home to attend Kutztown University and played football for the Golden Avalanche. Keith married Mary Lou Roehrig of Allentown in 1960. In 1970, American Can Co. moved Keith, his wife and their two children to Houston. Divorced in 1991, Keith married Dianne White in 1993, adding three stepsons to the family. In 2004, Keith retired from the Huntington Condominiums to enjoy travel and time spent with his family. His many trips to visit family in Pennsylvania and beyond, brought his great joy. Survivors: Keith is survived by his loving wife, Dianne White Wilcox; parents, Reverend Thomas A. and Frances Wilcox; brothers, Alden Wilcox and his wife, Carol and Sam Wilcox and his wife, Cindy; sister, Rebecca Lehmann and her husband, Klaus; daughter, Stacey Wilcox-Ewing and her husband, Dr. Tom; son, Keith C. Wilcox Jr. and his wife, Ginnie; stepsons, Jack White and his wife, Laurie, William White and his wife, Kristen, Stephen White and his wife, Elaine; grandchildren, Justin Ewing and his wife, Sandra; Dr. Captain James Ewing and his wife, Heidi, Katy and Patric, John and Matthew, Lindsay and Mikaela; great-grandchildren, Robyn, Tommy and Cambridge, who will all miss their beloved Pepaw. Keith also left behind many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; a host of other loving family members and friends. Keiths generous spirit and quick wit will be missed by all who loved and laughed with him, as he entertained and enriched us all with his gift of story telling. Services: memorial, was held Oct. 25 in Houston. A memorial service will be held for relatives and friends back East at 11 a.m. November 5, 2004 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster. At his request, Keith will be cremated and his ashes scattered over the Pacific Ocean at Big Sur, California. Arrangements, National Cremation Service, Houston. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Keiths name be made to the American Lung Association, San Jacinto Division, P.O. Box 27396, Houston 77027.
