I was a radio engineer for many years. Knowing Kermit was one of my high points in my life. We talked on the phone many years ago now. It was about receiving distant stations. He did this in the 30s, 15 years before I was born in 1948. He had knowledge that was acquired with his scientific mind. I became a design engineer for Motorola Government Research. It was an honor to have known him. Young people have to look up to this level of a person. No A.I. could match this fellow. RIP Kermit

I was in radio broadcasting for over 40 years, both on the air and in engineering.

Occasionally we would get letters from radio listeners requesting a "QSL Card". Radio stations often would send out a post card verifying that the station was heard by a distant listener.

One day I got a letter from Kermit Geary detailing his reception of 1360-WRSG. The station went on the air in 1947 as WKOP at 750 on the dial.

I sent him a return letter verifying his reception of WRSG. I also included an original QSL card from 1947 and some photographs of the radio station. He had sent a letter in 1947 but no QSL cards had been printed at that time.

A few years later the call letters were changed to WBNK. Kermit sent a letter to the radio station thanking me for the package I had sent him a few years earlier.

This will mean nothing to the average person reading this, but to Kermit Geary this was a hobby to which he was devoted and obviously enjoyed.

I was always a pleasure hearing from distant listeners.

While I did not know Mr. Geary, Sr., through e-mail and pictures I have come to know Kermit, Jr. Children are usually the product of the parents. In which case, y'all have lost a good, care member of your family. Please accept my condolences.

If there is one thign I learned from your Dad, besides railroad information, it was to always be enthusiastic about life.Times may change, things may change, but that doesn't mean you have to give up. I'm grateful to have learned that from him. Know that your family is in our prayers.

To the Geary family:

My heart, thoughts ,and prayers go out to all of you. Fear not as his spirit has taken the Lehigh Valley Snow Birds To his mansion in the sky!

I never met Mr Geary personally. I did graduate from NHS with his son Kermit Jr. I was aware of the passion they both had for photography, and for trains.I didn't until later in life really appreciate that passion.

As a child I can remember watching the Lehigh Valley Railroad trains from the front porch of my grandparent's home in Walnutport.I saw things in his pictures that I never had the chance to see in real life. I also collect Lionel LVRR model train cars partially because of him.

If it was not for the passion of Mr Geary for those trains, and all of his Pictures they would be only a memory!

It isn't until you lose a treasure like Mr Geary ,or the LVRR that it hits you how important they were ,and what a valuable service they provided.

It should please you to great ends that your Husband,Father, and grandfather left us all with so many memories not only of himself, but of the history of our past.

It is my fondest wish that God would ease the burden of his loss for all of you,and that he hold you in the palm of his hand ,and keep and protect you!
