Leon Weaver Obituary

Leon Weaver
Leon K. Skip Weaver, 78, formerly of Easton, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 in Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township. He was the husband of Mary (Barna) Weaver. Leon and Mary were married for 56 years and observed their last anniversary on October 16, 2004. They lived in Palmer Township for nearly 40 years, where they raised nine children. Leon graduated from Easton High School with the class of 1945, proudly served in the Army as a paratrooper, and later attended Temple University. An electrician by profession, he was committed to his trade and loved going to work each day - often working from home where he was the creator of many inventions, some of which were patented. A deeply passionate man, he enthusiastically pursued his other interests in equal measure, namely traveling with his wife, spending time with his children and grandchildren, bowling, skiing, socializing, dancing, and golfing. Leon will be forever remembered by those who knew him as the out-going, sensitive, fun-loving, mischievous, generous, engaging, gentle, caring, energetic, intelligent, loving man that he was. Survivors: In addition to his wife Mary; daughter, Patricia Weaver of North Catasauqua; son, Guy Weaver of Clarks Summit and his wife, Kathy and their three children, Aaron, Patrick, and Danielle; daughter Christine Weaver of Catasauqua, her husband Jeff Jaworowski and their three children, Alexis, Cody, and Sydney, daughter, Holly Stalnaker of St. Petersburg, Fla., and her two children, Carli and William, son, Michael Weaver of Palmer Township, his wife Carmen and their three children, Matthew, Timothy, and Dakota, daughter, Michelle Weaver of Fredericksburg, Va. and her husband Craig Phillips and her three children, Justin, Tyler, and Cain, daughter, Kimberly Weaver of New York City, and son, Robert Weaver of St. Petersburg, Fla. and his wife Libby. He is also survived by his granddaughter Terri Lopez in California, her husband Mario and their four children; Leons great-grandchildren, Amber, Brandon, Victoria and Kevin; his sister, Dorothy Stem of Palmer Township; his daughter, Joni Montessi and her son, Ryan. Services: memorial, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Strunk Funeral Home Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson. Contributions: Alzheimers Association, 100 N. 17th St., Second Floor, Philadelphia 19103.

It was sad to hear the news about Uncle Leon. It has been a very long time since I've seen him but I remember the many times he would visit us when we lived at Seitz Ave.
