Lisa Altobelli Obituary
Lisa Altobelli, age 37, lost her valiant battle with lung cancer on Tuesday morning March 30, 2010 in NYU Lagone Medical Center, New York with her loving and devoted family at her bedside. A graduate of Salisbury High School, she received her BA from Dickinson University and her M.A. in English from Villanova University. Lisa was Vice President and Manager of the New York office of Text 100, an International Public Relations firm. Survivors: Her father, Dr. John A. Altobelli; birth mother, Ruth (Kline) Altobelli of Philadelphia; later in life her mother, Jane E. (Roth) Altobelli; sister, Dr. Eva Altobelli and her husband Steven Mazur along with their daughter, Mazie of Astoria, NY; brother, Joseph of Philadelphia. Services: Please celebrate Lisas life in your own very special way, for there will be no public services. Everyone she knew, she loved and everyone who knew her, loved her. I am an estranged cousin that mostly knew Lisa in my childhood as we played once or twice together during visits when our parents or we would cross the geographic barriers. To all my old friends, the Altobellis, I was stunned to read the news about Lisa passing away. Just a few months ago, I asked about her and, John, you didn't mention anything to me about Lisa being ill. I did send a copy of the obit to my kids and I know that they will be equally as shocked. Frank and I are shocked and saddened to learn of your great loss. Lisa was always the sweetest and full of love. We will remeber her beautiful smile and welcoming attitude. The last times we saw Lisa was at Joseph and then Eva's wedding and we were so delighted to see what a great lady she grew up to be. How tragic and unfortunate her time was cut so short. I, too, am one of Lisa's sorority sisters from Dickinson College. I am so very saddened to hear that such a lovely, happy, and brilliant star has gone dark. Lisa made EVERYONE smile everytime we saw her and her laughter was truly infectious. We were all blessed to have known her and spent time with her. We are not only proud to call Lisa a dear friend .. but a genuine member of our family.
Words cannot express the the sadness that we feel at the loss of this incredible lady that we have known since she was a young girl.
I can never remember a time being in Lisas presence that she was not smiling, laughing, and bringing that happiness to everyone in the room.
