Lois Miller Obituary

Miller, Lois NanetteLois Nanette Miller (born Noll), founder of Star Talent Management, passed away Sunday, November 30th, in Allentown, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. She was 77. She battled FTD (Frontotemporal Degeneration) for nearly 15 years, a disease that gradually attacks the brain and affects personality, behavior and language. Lois began her career as a stay-at-home mom to her three loving daughters, which transitioned to the role of a caring and protective stage mom when she moved to CA with her youngest. After spending years surrounded by the world of show business, Lois realized her true calling. She opened Star Talent Management in 1987 with a phone and a fax machine in a spare room at her husband Stan's pajama factory. She was instrumental in the career development of so many young actors and models from the region, helping them secure roles on Broadway, on television, in commercials and in print. Born in Canton, Ohio, Miller grew up in Meadville PA, until her high school years. Her father took a position as an engineer in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the family relocated. Lois attended high school at The American School, and embraced the language and the culture of her adopted country. She returned to the states to attend Cedar Crest College, where she met and married Stan Miller, her husband of 56 years. Survivors: Much beloved, Lois is survived by her husband Stanley Zane Miller, Allentown; daughter Cindy Miller, Palm Beach Gardens, FL; daughter Sharon Miller Trackman, Newtown Square, PA; daughter Lara Jill Miller, Los Angeles, CA; and sister Judy Savitt, Bridgeport, CT. Services: Memorial Service, 11am, Thursday, December 4, at the Bachman Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton Streets, Allentown. Contributions: may be made to the AFTD Foundation in honor of Lois Miller, Radnor Station Building 2, Suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Road, Radnor, PA 19087 or online at www.theaftd.org

Although I am just another goy schlep throughout the years Lois befriended: I had fond memories from 12 years ago when she visited me while I was living in Sherman Oaks, she took me out to Lenore's Restaurant and bought me dinner, and afterwards, we had a cup of coffee at the present-day location of The Coffee Fix at Moorpark and Whitsett. The Millers were always nice people, and Lois was always proactive with any new talent she signed on. Sincerely,
Marcus

Lara,

Your mother is always with you...
She's the whisper of the leaves
as you walk down the street.

She's the smell of bleach in
your freshly laundered socks.

She's the cool hand on your
brow when you're not well.

Your mother lives inside
your laughter. She's crystallized
in every tear drop...

She's the place you came from,
your first home.. She's the map you
follow with every step that you take.

Nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, Not space...Not even death....
will ever separate you from your mother....

You carry her inside of you....

I'm sorry I couldn't be at the service but know that I will always remember your mom.

Dear Stan,
So sad to hear about the passing of Lois. Our son, Ryan did nine national commercials under Lois's professional tutelage. His commercial career financially supported his college education and for that, we will be eternally grateful. We feel extremely privileged to have known such a wonderful and giving person. Our hearts go out to you and your family at this very sad time.
With love,

Stan and girls, Tony & I have nothing but great memories of Lois. Her parties after shows, ever the gracious hostess (and without baking a thing!). Even when we were out in CA she and Lara Jill put us up in their tiny apartment. We loved it, just being with only 2/5 of your family, they made up for the Allentown contingent. We all will miss a great lady. "May the angels lead her into paradise." RIP, dear heart.

Dearest Stan, Lara Jill, Cindy and Sharon - I have known your Mom for about 26 years now and you all were the light of her life. No matter when we spoke, your names would all be mentioned, she was proud of each and everyone and we shared having three girls. I will never forget her honesty regarding many things, but ESP show biz. She always knew what was right and what was not a good decision with my daughter Jaime Lyn. She went on tour with her when we were unable to chaperone her for a few days and she became a special friend. I still have and wear the coat wrap she bought me because I rarely wore a coat and she knew we would be in cold places. I still wear it and it has many years left. I treasure being a small part of your exciting and very fulfilling life and loved hearing all about it. I was welcomed into your home on several occasions including an impromptu dinner which was delicious! Atlas, my greatest joy, and I pray also one of Lois's special times, was when we had a surprise 60th birthday party at Chuckie Cheese in her honor. She mentioned the year before she wanted a party there and I went home and wrote it down. With much help from the Miller Family and other Moms, we got a list of her past and present protégés and surprised the bee gee gees out of her. The kids ran up to her one by one with hugs, flowers, smiles, love and gratitude. It was a wonderful evening! I believe Stan recorded it! Cannot believe that was 17 years ago!!!
Well now my love and gratitude for sharing your wife and Mom with so many of us throughout the community and beyond. My deepest heartfelt sympathy for her passing and also the years if grief with her devastating illness. May God grant you peace and strength in the days ahead. Your memories are never ending and will live on in your heart. With love and gratitude, Candy

Dear Miller Family:

When we first moved into our home on Livingston St, in March 1977, we remember how Lois and Lara Jill made us feel so welcome here. Through the years, we admired Lois's unique and special gift to recognize the talent of the children that came to her agency for tryouts on Broadway or wherever they were destined to be. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the Miller family during this sad time.

Our daughter and her daughter had a lot in common. They both were premature and were jugglers. Lois and her daughter let us use her clubs for an extended time for our daughter to learn to juggle clubs. Lois always had a great way with advising and helping those wanting to enter the entertainment area. What a special family to have had Lois's encouragement and support. We consider it an honor and privelge for having known Lois.

To the whole family - You were each a special part of my childhood memories. I remember riding my bike to your house, and sitting in Laurie's bedroom decorated with rainbows and the slanted closet where we liked to play! Lois was a wonderful mother and wife - my heart goes out to you as you celebrate her life. With love, Jessica

Mr. Miller, Cindy, Sharon, & Lara Jill,
I am so sadden with the passing of Mrs. Miller. It was Mrs. Miller who finally got me to swim in a pool after bribing me with everything she could think of. I have so many fond memories growing up with the family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
