Lori Weaver Obituary

Lori Ann Weaver, age 60, passed away suddenly in her Quakertown home on Friday, July 1, 2022.

Lori was born in Palmerton, was raised in Bowmanstown, and graduated in the Class of 1980 from Palmerton High School. Continuing her education at Lehigh Carbon Community College, she chose to become and licensed practical nurse and graduated in 1981. Her passion led her to a career in nursing home facilities with the geriatric population. Her patients and their families loved her because she went above and beyond to take care of them. It truly was her calling.

Lori is survived by her mother Dorothy Weaver and preceded in death by her father Henry Weaver.

Lori enjoyed sports! It didn't matter if she was playing them, coaching them, or watching them. Basketball was her passion and she was great on the court. She is part of the Palmerton High School's 1000 point club and her name is on the banner hanging on the gym wall. Her favorite pro teams to follow and cheer on were the 76ers and Vikings.

She treasured beach trips with her mom and cousin Lynn Shupp. Loved to travel and experience life with her best friend Celena Williams, as well as gardening, cooking, baking, canning, music and reading, just to name a few.

Animals were another soft spot for Lori. She loved all the pets she had throughout the years, but it didn't stop there. If she found an abandoned baby bunny she would try her best to nurse it back to health.

She had a big heart, liked to have fun, and loved all the special people in her life. Many will miss her, but she would want them to celebrate her life and remember the good times they shared.

A celebration of life will happen in the future, but for now treasure your memories of Lori. If you want to do something in lieu of flowers, plant something you can enjoy seeing every year and think of her. Show kindness by donating to your local animal shelter, and just be a kind soul.

Lori- sadly your time came. You were a part of my life for awhile. Know I was saddened when I heard of your passing. I checked up on you a few times over the years on Facebook and the last post I saw was a car you purchased in quakertown. May you fly high.

I've know Lori for her entire life. I used to go to watch her play high school basketball and was a dear friend to father Henry and mother Dorothy. I remember her riding her bike on Ore St when I was still living at home. My prayers to Dorothy and may she have the needed strength knowing one day they will all be together.

I was saddened to hear of Lori´s passing; I knew her from the time we were in grade school. She was such a nice person; a great basketball player, as well as softball. I hadn´t been in contact with her in many years, but reconnected with her a few months back on social media. We shared our fondness for dogs, as well as our love of our small town we grew up in. My sincerest condolences to her family, especially to Dorothy. Rest In Peace, old friend.
