Lucy Mellinger Obituary

88 years of age and resident of Fullerton, Whitehall Township, passed away peacefully on December 23 2022, enveloped in love by her immediate family. Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, the daughter of late Antonio and Sarah (Crisafi) Giovanni of Sicily, Italy, and predeceased by all 8 of her siblings. She was the wife of late, great Harry I. Mellinger, Jr. for 54 years before his passing in 2009. They married on July 29, 1955 and she moved with her husband to Fullerton when she was 19 to start their family. Lucy was well-known and loved by all for her fiery red hair and matching personality. She truly loved being Italian made sure everyone knew it. She was an active participant in her church and participated in many parish activities throughout the years, including various trips with the Golden Agers, running a pierogie stand at the annual parish festival and volunteering in the church rectory. She enjoyed all family gatherings, especially vacations at the beach. Lucy dedicated her life to caring for her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and her spirit will live on in their hearts. She was a woman of faith and very much looked forward to being reunited with her husband. We wish them peace and everlasting love in their joyful reunion. To the Mellinger Family and Giovanni Families,

For me, Lucy will always be John"Nunzio's" sister(my neighbor).

We so enjoyed her love for life at all of the family gatherings. She loved her sweets too. She was very proud of her family and quite frankly, like my neighbor John, told it like it was.

She will remain in the hearts of many -- her laughter contagious, her love -- forever.

Always,

JoAnn and Rich Durante
