Marowan Zakhour Obituary
Marowan Zakhour, 53, of Allentown, died Saturday Sep. 4 at St. Lukes Hospital, Allentown. Born in Mishtaya, Syria, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Issa Zakhour and Ajia Nema. Marowan was a doctor in Syria and most recently worked in cancer research at Stanford University in California. He was a member of St. George Orthodox Church, Allentown. Survivors: Parents; brothers, Nabil, and his wife, Mirna, of Damascus, Syria, and Bassam Zakhour, of Allentown; sisters Fadia, and her husband, Victor Fouad, of San Francisco, Minerva, and her husband, Sameer Sabet, Maisaa, and her husband Waleed Dahbar, and Sausan, and her husband, Imad Nasri, all of Montreal, Canada; nieces and nephews; and extended family in the U.S., Syria, Europe, Canada and Australia. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, St. George Orthodox Church, 1011 Catasauqua Ave., Allentown. Call 7-9 p.m. Monday in the church and 10-11 Tuesday. The Zakhour family is being served by the Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown. Contributions: To the Church.
