Dear Donna & Family,
I, too, knew Matt from Bible study at Agere - he was a blessing to us, always exhorting us to share the Gospel with others. I can imagine his homecoming in Heaven was greeted with "Well done, thou good and faithful servant," but I'm sure you are very much missing him here. It has been inspiring to read how much he did contribute in all walks of life.
I pray the Lord will comfort you in this time of sorrow with loving memories.
In Christian love,
Martha Walker

Mrs. Hinkle, Kathryn, Stephen & Family,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Husband, Father, Grandfather. I didn't know Mr. Hinkle on a personal level. I did go to High School with Stephen, and was his backup Catcher in Connie Mack Baseball back in the day when we were 16. That's how I remember Mr. Hinkle. From coming to the games. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this tough time. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Dear Mrs. Hinkle and children,
Mr. Hinkle was my son Jay's spanish teacher for two years at EHMS. We are so very sorry for your loss. He was such a nice man, and it was always a pleasure to talk to him at conference time. I could tell what a kind heart he had, and how important his students were to him. He was so very nice to my son Jay, as well as being a wonderful teacher. We will miss him dearly. It was an honor to have known him.

January 30, 2008
"We're part of a family, that's been born again.
Part of a family, who's love knows no end.
For Jesus has saved us, and made us His own.
Now, we're part of a family that's on it's way home."
"And sometimes we laugh together,
Sometimes we cry.
Sometimes we share together,
heartaches and sighs.
Sometimes we dream together,
Of how it will be.
When we all get to Heaven,
God's family."
"When a brother meets sorrow, we all feel his grief.
When he's passed through the valley, we all feel relief.
Together in sunshine, together in rain.
Together in victory, through His precious name."
"And though some go before us, we'll all meet again.
Just inside that city, as we enter in.
There'll be no more parting, with Jesus we'll be,
TOGETHER, FOREVER, GOD'S FAMILY."

Hinkles,
My heart goes out to your family for your loss.
I worked with Matt about 10 years ago at Lucent/Agere and I remember him as the most gentlest and kindest person. He was never at a loss for an inspirational and relevant bible quote.
From the entries in this guest book, it appears that he also made a very positive impact at his "new" career. The entries from the students really hit home with me...
Everyday, I still look at the calendar of Christian sayings that he gave me for my 40th birthday and will now treasure it more.

Matt was most kind and gracious to help keep the Bible Study at Agere running after I left to work at Northrop-Grumman. It was something he just stepped in to do and took upon himself with the wonderful heart of a servant to Jesus. I just got word of his passing through the email of a mutual friend from that time at Agere. I had the chance to reply and noted that it's neat to think about Matt REALLY enjoying a quiet, joyous corner of heaven at this very moment!

Mr. Hinkle was the best spanish teacher ever. He had the best line ever...," Spanish is not English...DUH." I was so upset to find out that he passed away, I almost cried in Spanish. My prayers are with you, and I hoped he lived a good life. He will be very missed at East Hills. Anybody who had him was super lucky. I'm sure going to miss him, he was so nice, he helped me so much on tests and was just so nice. I hope that everyone takes respect and misses him as dearly as I do

Steve, I am so deeply sorry for your loss, and I'm really sorry I never got a chance to meet your dad. Knowing how we're really just facsimiles of our fathers a generation apart, I bet he was one heck of a guy. That seems to be apparent from how many wonderful things people in this guest book have to say.
God bless him, bless your family and may God give you all strength and a ton of fond memories that leave you smiling more than mourning. My heart just ACHED for you when I heard the news, Erica and I are praying for all of you as you cope with this untimely tragedy.

Matt was a wonderful fellow barbershopper. He touched so many lives through music and teaching, and we are all much richer for having him cross our paths. How sad to hear of his sudden passing. I recall singing on many shows with his quartet, Audible Difference, and always finding him with a smile wherever I saw him. Dear Hinkle Family,
We are saddened to hear of Mr Hinkle's passing. My son was a EHMS student of his this year. How his students perfomed really mattered to him as evidenced by how he helped my son this year. He was quick to contact me, quick to help and follow-up. I remember thinking when I got his emails how much he really cared about his students.
