Maureen Stark Obituary

Maureen Agnes Stark (née O'Connell), 75 of New Rochelle, New York, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2021 at Calvary Hospital after a brief illness. Born in West Hartford, CT, Maureen led a full life, raising 7 boys in Bristol, CT (all of whom were born before she turned 30) and then going on to a long career in various parts of the hospitality industry until her retirement in 2017 when she moved from Allentown, PA to New Rochelle, NY. Maureen's happiest times were spent with family and friends. Known for her robust, signature laugh that turned heads wherever she went, she loved to tell the story of being in a supermarket, letting out one of her infectious laughs, only to turn around and see James Earl Jones rounding the corner and asking "Who has that marvelous laugh!?". In her later years, Maureen was an active online presence connecting with her friends and family far and near including many relatives in Ireland. A ravenous news watcher and reader, she enjoyed discussing politics and current events. She is survived by her seven sons Richard, Timothy, Paul, Keven, Eric, Jonathan, Michael, and 9 grand children and 3 great grand children along with numerous cousins and other relatives. Per her wishes, memorial services will not be held. Friends and family will gather at a later date to celebrate and honor her life. In lieu of flowers, given her love of kitties, we encourage donations in her honor to the Humane Society of Westchester at New Rochelle, NY.

I worked with maureen at the Holiday Inn in Bethlehem Pa for several years. She was a lot of fun, and yes that laugh was wonderful. I am sorry she is gone.

Maureen was my first cousin and spent a lot of time at our house. We loved her dearly and she was a favorite of my mother who was Maureen´s father, Jack´s sister. We have recently reconnected through the Flanagan Family Facebook site and we took part in the family zoom a few times. She was the oldest of the first cousins and we all loved her dearly. Condolences to her lovely large family, I know she will be missed.
