Mike called me one day and asked if I had ever completed my PhD. I felt like I disappointed him because I hadn't. He passed before I went back and completed my doctorate. I wish that I could have told him that I did. His mild disappointment inspired me and my career changed significantly after I completed my degree. Thank you Mike.

Maryann,

My heart is hurting, having just learned of Mike's passing. We went to high school together, and had been in touch in the last year. Mike was at our wedding, and I was always proud of how he had made himself a self-made success. He was a good soul, and my wife and I are in shock. He will be missed terribly, and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sadly,

Ira and Donna Spector
formerly from Allentown, PA

Mike was a good friend of the family , and he will be missed greatly. My husband , Raj would speak to him very often, and I would hear him chuckling on the phone, enjoying his conversation with Mike. Mike was a devout and God- fearing man, and I am glad that he died in his sleep, and did not have to suffer. Our prayers and comfort to maryann and the family, God Bless.

Mike worked with my Dad at Mobil in Rochester, NY. When I was growing up, he spent a lot of time with our family whether it was camping trips, dinners together, etc. I have this fond memory of being about 8 and Mike sitting at our kitchen table helping me paint my nails. My Mom was doing a bad job and I was on the verge of a temper tantrum. He calmed me down and wasn't bad at painting nails either :) My sincere condolences and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

Mike and I worked at Mobil. We stayed in touch thereafter. We spoke often, past 20 years. He would always brighten my day with his humor. Mike was a good man, and a great friend. I miss him but am consoled with the thought that he is in a far better place. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Marianne, and his extended family.

My deepest sympathy to Mike's family. I worked with Mike at Mobil Chemical (Rochester, NY) and shared an office with him during this time. I will always remember Mike carrying big black binders of Taguchi design of experiments with him. We ran many trials together at the semi-works. My prayers are with his family.

Mike was a kind hearted person and loved by everyone here at Think.

Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Here is something I found on the internet years ago that I like to share with those who are dealing with a loss of loved one:

We know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.

I worked with Mike at Think (via my home in Florida). I would visit with him when I was in Atlanta or talk over the phone. Mike had a quick wit and always had funny stories to share. He was always positive and without exception was a kind, caring person to everyone. He will be missed! I am so sorry for your loss and I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

“When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.” - Kahlil Gibran

Dear Maryann & Mike's family,
Jeff, the girls, the dogs and I are so so very sorry for your loss and tremendous sadness at this time. Mike touched us all in his unassuming yet significant way. Maryann - I remember sitting around hanging out at an early Atlanta dog show... well before my kids... he and Jeff humoring and supporting us while we did our dog thing. And of course, how he loved Sage, and how she knew it! Who else would come to our rescue with you Maryann, and babysit our TEN puppies when we had to go down to Fla for a family funeral?! With a smile! And I think he brought us a big can of flavored popcorn. That's Mike. And when you had to go to your brother's funeral Maryann, he called us up concerned that Chief was so sad without you - did we think he'd do better visiting us so Sage could distract him and cheer him up? Truly Mike thought about others before he thought about himself. How about when Flare was a puppy and you brought her to the old house to play with Rosa in the ex-pen? Well Rosa got tired of that - so Mike entertained our toddler and hung out with Jeff while you and I did dog stuff? He was unfailingly calm and kind and ready with a smile. He will truly be missed and remembered...

Maryann,

So very sorry for your loss...you and Mike were gracious hosts on our sporting trips to Columbus and Atlanta...While Mike wasn't the sports fanatic like the rest of us he nonetheless hung out and showed us all the sites...he was a great person and will be missed

I had the pleasure of working with Mike for several years. Beyond that time, he always made it a point to contact me and time to time and even share the occasional photos of his dogs. Mike was a memorable, kind, and pleasant person to everyone - no exceptions. The family and friends are in my thoughts.

You will truly be missed by many, Mike!

I have had the pleasure and fun to work with Mike from the day he started his employment at Think Resources. When I retired the end of July, Mike had great comments for me and I treasure his words.
Mike was a joy to work with, he always had a happy way of making even the worse situation better. We had many discussions about technical issues and people in general. He liked to coin his own words and they described the thought very well. Most words are not yet in the dictionary but will be some day.
I miss Mike but I treasure his memory.

I am truly sorry for you loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I joined Think at the same time as Mike and have had the pleasure of working with him. He was one of kind, always smiling and he had a quick whit that kept me laughing. He brought back very fond memories of home (I am originally from western NY) and we would laugh about commonalities we both experienced. I will miss Mike, may God bless him.

Mike....you and your Mom and sister were always family to me. I couldn't have asked for a better life-long friend. All you ever had to do was say "HEY" to let me know how you were. You always made me laugh, and usually when the joke was on me.
I miss you, brother.
Rest in Peace, Mike. Let God watch over you.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike, we set next to each other and would often talk thru the cubical walls. I truly enjoyed his out look on life and the amazing facts that he had to share with whom ever chose to listen. I'm sorry Maryann for your loss he will be missed as well as remembered.
