Michael J. Milot
Michael J. Milot, 23 years, of New Tripoli, formerly of Germansville, died Friday, February 2, 2007 from injuries he sustained in an airplane crash in Massachusetts. He was the fiance of Robyn B. Swartwood with whom he resided and was to marry this summer. Born in Allentown on June 30, 1983, Mike was the son of John M. and Patricia D. (Goff) Milot of Germansville. Mikes love of flying airplanes developed early in life when he took glider lessons and soloed a glider at the age of 14. His passion developed further after taking flying lessons and soloing his fathers Cessna at age 16. He became a certified flight instructor I and II, at Gateway Aviation, Allentown. Mike advanced his pilot career by complex aviation training and became a professional licensed pilot. He was currently employed as a professional pilot for the Law Firm of Peter J. Karoly & Associates, Allentown, since June 2006. He graduated from Northwestern Lehigh High School in New Tripoli, class of 2001, where he was a member of the track and field team. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, which developed from his involvement in Boy Scouts Troop 89, New Tripoli, where he was a member for 10 years. Mike was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield, where he was an altar server until the age of 18. Mike will be remembered as a wonderful and loving son, brother, uncle and soul mate.
Survivors: Fiance; parents; sister, Jill M. Milot of Trexlertown; paternal grandparents, John J. and Anita T. (Hill) Milot of Middleport, Schuylkill County; maternal grandmother, Mary Ann M. Goff of Allentown; nephews, Shayne and Ceiran; niece, Lily; Robyns children, Brittany, Tyler and Kyle. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, William J. Goff.
Services: A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2007 in St. Joseph The Worker Roman Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield.
