Mildred Lalik Obituary

Mildred "Milly" Lalik, 95, of Emmaus, died peacefully Feb. 26, 2023 in Phoebe Home Allentown. She was the wife of the late Charles J. Lalik, who died in 1978. She loved working at Rodale in various administrative positions from 1970 through 1999, when she retired at the age of 71! Raised in Brooklyn, NY, during the great Depression, she was the proud daughter of Polish immigrants, Louis and Mary (Kardys) Baran. Her sisters Florence Kochman and Terry Durans predeceased Milly. She was a devoted member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Emmaus. Milly worked as a volunteer for Hospice St. John during the early 2000's. During her last years, she moved to Country Meadows and enjoyed the relaxing life of a senior citizen and especially enjoyed bingo and happy hour. She had a great love for her friends and family. Milly is survived by her daughters, Karen Erbe (Keith) of Ellicott City, MD and Susan Cottone of Emmaus; sons, Kenneth of Tamaqua and John (Ann) of Allentown; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thurs., March 2 at 11:00 AM in St. Ann's Catholic Church, 415 S. 6th St., Emmaus. Visitation 10:00 to11:00 AM in the church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.

I have such great memories of your mother--I especially loved watching her and Lucy walk briskly around Emmaus busily talking. I remember her and your dad eating lunch at Fitness House lo those many years ago. So sorry for your loss but a life well lived, for sure!
