Paul Eckhart Obituary
Paul W. Eckhart, 52, of Walnutport, died Sunday, November 25, 2007. He celebrated 25 years as the loving husband of Judy (Wertman) Eckhart, whom he married on August 21, 1982. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Paul W. and Ester (Merkle) Eckhart. Paul worked as an electrical technician for Omni Life, Fogelsville, for many years. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville. He helped his son with his quarter midget race car by being a mechanic on his pit crew. He was a board member of the Roosevelt Democratic Club, Danielsville, and a member of the American Legion. Survivors: Wife; son, Tyler Jarod Eckhart at home; brother, William A.D. Eckhart of Slatington; sister, Miriam A. Mack of Walnutport; several nieces and nephews; many friends that are like family. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29, Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Dr., Cherryville. Viewing, 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, and 10-11 a.m. Thursday, both at the church. Arrangements, Schisler Funeral Home Inc., 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tyler J. Eckhart College Fund, c/o the funeral home, PA 18067.

Paul was a man of many talents and great personality. Whenever we had a difficult/problem job I always sent Paul.Most times he found a way to do it. If he said it could't be done then I knew it couldn't. I will miss him .

Judy & Tyler: Little did we know that morning that god was going to call his name. In life we loved Paul dearly, in passing we do the same. It broke our hearts to loose Paul but he did not go alone for part of us went with him. He left happy memories, his spirit still our guide. Although we cannot see Paul, he is always by our side. Our friendship chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as god calls us one by one, the chain will link again to eternity. my thoughts and prayers are with you both and his humor and generousity sadly missed. Paul and I had become more than business associates, him and I shared a deep passion for all forms of racing, and I enveid his trips to Indy and the dirt tracks out there.
