Paul B. Wagar Jr.

WAGAR, PAUL B., JR. Sept. 15, 1930-Nov. 8, 2006. A memorial service for Paul Wagar will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14, at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 11265 SW Cabot St., Beaverton. He died from cancer at age 76. An Army veteran, Paul was stationed at Osaka Hospital when he met his wife, Kaneko Tanaka. They were married for 51 years. He had two children, Byron Wagar of Tigard and Arlene Watkins of Bend, and a lifetime of beloved pets. Of his many accomplishments, he was most proud of his wife and children, all of whom were present at his peaceful passing at home. Paul also has two sisters, Mary Lindsey of Portland, and Alice Walker of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; and a granddaughter, Rae Anne Watkins of Bend. Paul grew up in Raleigh Hills and Laurelhurst. He earned his Eagle Scout rank, graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School, and attended PSU for two years. He retired from Kaiser Permanente as an optical center supervisor.
