Ralph Orobono Obituary

On May 4, 2023, Ralph Orobono passed from this Earth. He lived in Northampton, PA with his family for over fifteen years. He was married to Cynthia Orobono for 44 years. Ralph worked as a Warehouse/Transportation Manager for over 40 years. Ralph was a wonderful father to his children Anthony Orobono (daughter-in-law Hillary), James Orobono and Mary Orobono (fiancé Sean Graver.) Ralph was also a loving Pop-Pop to grandchildren Madison and Morgann. Teaching his children various sports like baseball, basketball, golf and martial arts. Ralph had many experiences from playing baseball with the Reading and Philadelphia Phillies. When injury ended his baseball career, it did not quell his passion for sports. Since the age of 18, Ralph taught youth groups in baseball and basketball. Martial Arts became his next passion and he excelled by earning three black belts from various schools and finally opening his own program. Elite Mixed Martial Arts Center opened in 2008. Shihan Ralph Orobono created a unique program adjusting the curriculum for each individual student. His credo is to "be the best you can be!" We will be holding a Memorial at Elite M.M.A. Center for our Shihan on June 10th, 2023 at 11 AM. Services will be held on May 20th, 2023 at Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St. in Northampton, PA. The visitation will occur from 9AM - 12PM. Services will start at Noon. Online condolences may be offered at www.reichelfuneralhome.com. My thoughts and prayers are with the Orobono family. We had some good times and I learned a lot from Shihan

Some men demand respect and admiration. Some men live to be given to, poured into and fulfilled by others. Ralph was not that man. He was man who gave sacrificially to mold children and youth; to elicit self control, to teach them honor, to instill curtesy and respect for others. He had a presence of peace about him. Even though he could, fight to defend anything or anyone he loved or believed in. He lived a life of sacrifice. I will never forget him. My son is a disciplined, level headed, and conscious man today for all he learned at EMMA

I am saddened to hear about Shihans passing, knowing him from martial arts class, the man was a mentor to many and a great role model. Ralphs legacy will live on thru the hundreds of students he mentored, RIP Shihan.

I am so sorry to read of Ralph's passing. My sympathies are with the whole family--grief for a loved one is so painful and bitter. My memories of Ralph are of a fine and fair dispatcher at Old Dominion Freight Line and one of my favorite coworkers. Every evening at the end of my shift he had time to talk and to thank me as a driver. He cared and was a pleasure to work with. RIP my friend.

On behalf of RJ Schinner Co, I would like to say that we were privileged to get to know Ralph and work with him. He will be missed by the whole company as he had a big impact on the organization during his time as an Operations Manager. I personally worked with him on a regular basis and was glad I got a chance to get to know him. We made a small donation to the animal rescue on his behalf. We are very saddened by the loss.

Dear Cindy and family: We will never forget our time at Elite Mixed Martial Arts. We are forever grateful for all Shihan Ralph Orobono did for Tyler. To this day Tyler is still cherishes this day when receiving this award from Shihan Ralph Orobono for saving his Nana's life. The things that Shihan Ralph Orobono taught was not just martial arts. However, he taught courage, to stand up for what you believe in, kindness, that you can do anything you put your mind to, respect, hard work, never give up, Discipline, consideration, focus and so very much more. We appreciate your whole family. We are devastated about learning of his passing. During this difficult time please know that we are keeping you all in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May God give you strength and courage to face the days ahead. May your loving memories forever be held in your hearts. Tracey, John, Tyler and Kevin
