Raymond Brodeur Obituary

Raymond F. Brodeur, 80, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda L. (Price) Brodeur; his children Scott of Walnutport and Melissa of Falls Church, VA; brothers Richard of North Palm Beach, FL and Paul of Palmyra; grandchildren Courtney and Zachary of Whitehall; many beloved nieces and nephews; and godchild Carol Ann Santini. He was preceded in death by parents Albert Sr. and Dolorosa, brother Albert Jr., and sister Darlene Moll.

Raymond was born and raised in Worcester, MA, graduated from Worcester Classical High School and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and spent his entire career as a Certified Electrical Engineer with Bethlehem Steel. He was a life-long Boston Red Sox fan and an avid golfer. Ray took great pride in his dahlias and never missed a sporting event involving his children and grandchildren.

At Ray's request there will be no funeral or memorial services. If you've witnessed the debilitating effects of dementia and wish to make a difference, the family requests any donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or the Dementia Society of America

My condolences go out to Ray's family. I did not work with Ray during my 36 years at the Bethlehem Plant until the last 6 months in closing the plant. Ray was my supervisor for this period of time, however Ray and I played together more than 10 years in the BSCO baseball league. We also saw each other at the annual Electrical Christmas party. I missed seeing Ray for the last 2 years. May he rest in peace.

My most heartfelt condolences to Ray's family:
Having the honor and cherished memories to work, just five feet, in front of Ray for several years was an education and opportunity to learn his true fantastic personality. He always spoke highly of his family. Ray is a credit to his profession. He made dozens of beautifully detailed electrical drawings to guide construction workers in the Bethlehem Steel Plant. Ray was very artistic, and to display his sense of humor, he would draw birds on the overhead powerlines. He even drew limit switches in electrical feeder circuits just for fun.
Ray self-built an addition to his home and I remember a team of us wheelbarrowing cement to the rear yard. I think we also did roofing; it was a long time ago. I was blessed to stay in touch with Ray, as a friend, over the past 52 years.
Rest in peace Ray; your accomplishments and memories are wonderful and timeless in our hearts.

Linda, Scott and Melissa,

I am so sorry to hear of Ray's passing. I will always remember planning trips for Ray, Melissa, Scott and you, Linda. Especially, the wonderful thank you dinner you always invited me to after your trip ended. May he rest in peace.
