Richard O. Decker

Richard O. Decker, 86 of Macungie, formerly of New Jersey, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2018. Richard would have celebrated his 87th birthday on July 14th. Husband of Margaret (Meholchick) Decker who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 17th. Richard served in the US Army during the Korean War. He started his own concrete business in Irivngton New Jersey. He was a devoted father to Diana (Decker) Wallbillich of Nazareth and Walter J. Decker II of Allentown. Grandfather to Shawn, Jacob, and Ryan Wallbillich. Also survived by his beloved cousins B.W. and R.G. Huber of NJ, sisters-in-law Paulette Zardecki and husband Jack of PA, Bernice "Deb" Pierce of MA, brothers-in-law Stanley Meholchick and wife Jeanie and George Meholchick of ID, his son's partner K.J. Frankenfield and beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his brother Walter J. Decker Jr., sister Carol McGrath and brother-in-law Jack McGrath. The Family would like to extend their appreciation to his Physicians, the ICU and Hospice Staff at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, and the staff at SarahCare, Allentown. A Celebration of Richard's life will be held with family and friends at a later date. Richard's wish was to have donations made towards the education of his grandchildren. Monetary donations can be made payable to Margaret A. Decker who will oversee distribution of the funds.
