Robert Ford Obituary

63 years of age and resident of Salisbury Township, passed away in the Lehigh Valley Hospital on January 5, 2022. Bob was born to Edward L. and Shirley (Kinsey) Ford in Reading, Massachusetts. After graduating from Quakertown High School in 1976, he went on to join the United States Army, serving with the Military Police. He then continued his studies at Bucks and Lehigh Community Colleges. Bob started his civilian career at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Security, and was later employed at St. Luke's Hospital Security Department. He enjoyed cheering on the Broncos, Penn State, Phantoms and Phillies, and enjoyed taking in many local games with his family and friends. Bob loved judging the Great Allentown Fair Apple pie and Baking competitions. In his spare time he was an avid reader and fisherman. He loved spending time with his grandson who was a bright light in his life. Bob's family brought him strength and courage during his longtime battle with kidney disease. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Patricia Wakefield Ford and brother in law Richard Surmick. Bob's selfless gift of his corneas saved the sight of 2 individuals.

I'll always be grateful to Bob's welcoming me to Quakertown when we moved there, introducing us to other kids and including us in baseball games in the neighborhood. Loved reconnecting with him in recent years. Loved his belly laugh and his joy in attending Broadway shows, and in his close-knit family. Thanks, cousin.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob at Lehigh Valley Hospital In the 1990s and 2000s. I always enjoyed working with him, we always had good times working on night shift. He loved his wife and Daughter very much. And spoke of them often. We had many good times together, he will be missed. God bless you buddy.
