Serafin, Robert E.Robert E. Serafin, Sr., 93, of Allentown, PA, died Friday, September 4, 2015, at the Phoebe Home in Allentown, PA. Born August 26, 1922 in Plains, PA, he was the son of the late John and Julia (Lewandoski) Serafin. He was the husband of the late Elaine (Hertus) Serafin who passed in 1997. He had 35 years of service with the army. He served as a medic and military police during WWII. He also served as a criminal investigator during Vietnam and Korea. Was stationed in Thailand and Germany as a criminal investigator. After retiring from the army he worked as the head of security at the Hotel Bethlehem. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Berlinsville. He also enjoyed watching baseball & football; he was a devoted Braves & Notre Dame fan. Survivors: Surviving are a son, Robert E. & wife Tina Serafin of Slatington, PA; daughters, Elaine wife of John Haury of Port Orange, FL, and Roberta wife of Ronald Heiser of Slatington, PA; a brother, John Serafin of Plains, PA; four grandchildren: Jennifer Pugh-Stephens, Alyson Serafin, Shelby Serafin, and Kyle Heiser; and one great- granddaughter, Sarah Stephens. He was predeceased by a daughter, Diana McCarthy; and a sister, Helen D'Agostino. Services: Funeral service will be at 11:00a.m. Friday, September 11at the Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, September 10, 2015 from 7- 8:30p.m. and also from 10-11a.m. on Friday morning, all in the funeral home.
