Ronald Blocker Obituary
Ronald L. Butch Blocker, 71, of 601 Grist Mill Rd., Lehighton, passed away July 4 at his residence. He was the husband of Dawn L. DeReamer Blocker. They were married for 37 years on April 7, 2010. Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Elmer and Ella Bryfogle Blocker. He was a graduate of Lehighton Area High School and later served our country with the US National Guard. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Blocker Bros. Garage for over 40 years. An avid farmer, his lifelong love was farming and spending time with his family where he assisted them with the family excavating business. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton where he served actively as a volunteer. He was a Life member of Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club, and was an active member of The Table of Knowledge Club at McDonalds Rt. 443, Lehighton. Butch also served the City of Bethlehem as a volunteer at New Bethany Ministries Soup Kitchen. Survivors: Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Melissa Missy Blocker and her companion Paul Johnston of Lehighton; one step-daughter Kimberly wife of David Hinkle of Weatherly; three brothers, Willard and his wife Margaret, Earnest, and Ellwood and his wife Mary Ann all of Lehighton; eight grandchildren, Megan, Lindsey, Daniel, Nicole, Brittany, Ethan, Joel and Tanner Hinkle and one step-granddaughter, Elise Johnston, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Charlotte Solt, Thelma Miller, Matrona Smith; and two brothers, Donald and Richard. Services: A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3rd & Iron St., Lehighton with the Rev. Robert A. Von Frisch officiating. Call 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thurs. at the church. The interment will be private. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the church at 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton Pa. 18235 Online condolences may be offered at www.ovsakfh.com

Dear Dawn & Family,
I can not believe that Butch is gone but I do know he is up there filling in the Heilman's & Donny what has gone on in the last couple of years. They have a lot of catching up to do. One day soon we will be together again I am sure. Butch always had a kind thought or a laugh for us as we passed even in the worst of times... I will always remember the fun we have had over the years. That will always be our favorite way up or home. Yes, I am a Heilman but I was always Donny's cousin Carol. That wonderful feeling of the neighborhood
I hope never changes even though he is gone.

We were so stunned and saddened to hear of Ronnie's death. He was a fixture in the community and a fantastic neighbor, husband, father, and grandfather.
We have such fond memories of Ronnie from our years of friendship; he truly will be missed. Whether it was a friendly wave as we drove past or the occasional "flag down" to ask about the kids and the family, Ronnie showed just how much he cared about all of us every day.
Our prayers, our deepest sympathy, and our love go out to your whole extended family. His memory will live on in all of us.

Missy and Dawn,
No words can make this any easier, I was in the same shoes only couple of months ago with my father. However, it's the memories that we cherish. I could always count on a drive in valley and a friendly wave driving by. Indeed, he was pillar of Mahoning Valley. God Bless.

Dawn, Missy, Paul, and Elise,
Butch Blocker was a pillar of the Mahoning Valley; he knew everyone and everyone knew him. Of course, to know him was to love him.
He helped hold up this community with his laughter and joy of life. Because he was yours and you are his, each will carry on his legacy of living life to the fullest.
I see Butch in each of you and will be glad to get small glimpses of him through the sparkle in your eyes, the heartiness of your laughs, the generosity of your spirits, and your warm friendship.

Dawn, Missy, and family,
Words cannot express the sadness I feel for your family. May God hold you in his arms and comfort you during this time.
We are all going to miss his smile and wave as we'd drive, ride bike or walk past the farm. I am so thankful for the conversations that we did have and the excitement that my boys had when he let them feed the fish in the lower pond and thankful for him sharing the beauty of the upper pond. (I asked his permission to take photos and he happily allowed me to.)
It is going to be "different" for us to not see him as we go past, but he will forever remain in our hearts and memories, to which we will hold forever.

Just can't believe this! What a swell guy you've been, friend, neighbor, a pal to both my brothers. . . Your whole family has been like a family to me, to our family. What a swell neighborhood in which we grew up, all because of the families we had.
