Ronald R. Perin, 65, of Plainfield Township, Pa. and Port Orange, Fla., died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, in the VNA of St. Lukes Hospice House, Upper Saucon Township. Born in Pen Argyl, May 15, 1944, he was the son of Carmelina Tiny Roma Perin of Bethlehem and the late Robert F. Perin. He was the president of Grand Central Sanitation Landfill in Plainfield Township from 1979-1995, prior to that he worked for his father at the landfill. Ron was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Pen Argyl and a member of the former St. Rochs Catholic Church, West Bangor. He was also a member of the Bangor Elks, Lodge 1106, the Honorary First Defenders, and various car clubs, including: Historical Construction Equipment and AACA Car Club. He served as a mechanic in the Army during the Vietnam era attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class. Ron enjoyed gardening, traveling, restoring his antique cars and equipment and especially enjoyed his time with his family and friends. He also devoted much of his time raising funds for his favorite local charities. He and his wife, the former Nancy A. Ace, celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary, June 25th. Survivors: In addition to his wife Nancy and his mother Carmelina, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Jayne Perin and her husband Robert Korab of Freemansburg; grandson, Lucas Perin Korab and a second grandchild due in March 2010; step-son, Nicolas A. Presutti of Port Orange, Fla.; sister, Rosina Perin-Nassry of Bethlehem; three brothers, Nolan A. Perin of Plainfield Township, Gary A. Perin of Bethlehem, and Brian D. Perin of Walnutport; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeased by his son, Thomas R. Perin, who died on January 18, 1985. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Saturday, October 24, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Elizabeths Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl. There will be viewing hours, Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl, with Elks Memorial Services at 8 p.m. THERE WILL BE NO VIEWING HOURS SATURDAY PRIOR TO SERVICES. Interment will be in St. Elizabeths Cemetery, Pen Argyl.
