I worked for Doc at Tenneco Chemicals. We remained friends for the remainder of his life. His influence on my personal and professional life was profound. He was like a father to me. The staff that we assembled at Tenneco are among the leaders in the environmental health and safety professions. Today, one manages a department at the Ohio State University, one retired from teaching at Rutgers University and one retired from managing a major insurance company laboratory. Doc reminded me that public health is a life long commitment. At 82, I still work and participate in professional society activities. We had a mutual love of the Glenn Miller Orchestra and Doc guided me to the historical performance venues in NJ and NY. He was and will remain "family."

Gary and family - please accept my sympathies on the passing of your dad, the Patriarch. I had the privilege to be involved in his care . While many interactions were on a specific medical level with his extensive knowledge and opinion there were conversations on his life, family ( grands that swam) and ever popular Phillies and Politics. He spoke of all at one time or another. I believe he is at peace and his whys have been answered .
