S. Glenn Kresge, 86, of Telford, PA, formerly of Quakertown, PA died Thursday, January 27, 2011, at The Lutheran Community at Telford, PA He was the husband of the late Louise C. (Owens), who died July 3, 2008. Born in Palmerton, PA he was the son of the late Seymour and Bertha (Deets) Kresge. Glenn was employed as a Chemical Engineer and the Managing Engineer for Atlas Mineral & Chemicals, Mertztown, PA for 49 years before retiring in May of 2000. After retiring from Atlas Mineral & Chemicals he continued to offer his expertise as engineer on a parttime basis at Silmar of Easton, PA for several years. He was a member of St. Johns U.C.C. Church, Nazareth, PA He served as a former Sunday School Teacher, and former church council member at various church he attended throughout his life. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a PFC during WWII. Survivors: He is survived by his; daughter, Mrs. Susan L. Frickert, of Bethlehem, PA, daughter-in-Law; Mrs. Elaine Kresge, Richmond, KY; sister-in-law; Mrs. Jane Kresge, Kissimee, FL; four granddaughters, Christina wife of Gandalf Sollenberger, Vineland, NJ, Ms. Rebecca Stump, Hellertown, PA, Dr. Jessica wife of Shad Ayers, Atlanta, GA, Lt. Katie wife of Clay Urban, Converse, TX; two great-grandsons, John Timothy Urban and Kai Donavan Sollenberger; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers Norman and Vernon and a son Timothy Glenn Kresge in 1981. Services: Are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011 at St. John U.C.C. Church, Broad and Prospect Sts. Nazareth, PA With calling hour 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the services in the church. Arrangements are being handled by Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 East Center Street, Nazareth, PA 18064. Rev. Curtis G. Kemmerer will officiate. Interment will follow services at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown, PA. Contributions: May be made to the Church Memorial fund C/O the funeral home.
