Silvester Ferrente Obituary
Silvester Buster Ferrente, 84, of Allentown, formerly of Woodmere, Long Island, died Saturday, August 12, 2006, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Audrey (Jackson) Ferrente. They were married 59 years in April. Born in Inwood, N.Y., he was the son of the late Domenic and Madalena (Rizzuto) Ferrente. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall. Silvester was a highway supervisor for Nassau county, N.Y., for 26 years, retiring in 1987. He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II. Survivors: Wife; sons, Joseph A. of East Northport, N.Y., Daniel A., husband of Kelly of East Islip, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Matthew, Alexandra, Erin; brothers, Carmen of Little River, S.C., Valentino of Dawsonville, Ga.; sister, Mary Gugliotti of Wolcott, Conn., Antoinette Frazier of Clio, Mich. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2006, St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall. Call 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many fond memories of my childhood summers at Saylor's Cottages and Mr. Ferrente was a big part of that. His warm nature and friendly personality will be missed by all. You are in my thoughts.
