William McBride Obituary

McBRIDE, , WILLIAM EDWARDPassed away October 15 at home surrounded by his family. He was 83. Bill was born on December 22, 1923 in Gulf, TX. He attended the University of Texas, and during that time was called to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and later in the Korean War. Bill graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and was married to his devoted wife of 52 years, Nancy B. McBride. Loving and supportive family includes his brother, sister-in-law, children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.. We are very grateful for their love and support during his difficult extended illness. Following his service on active duty in the U.S. Navy, Bill founded and owned Trans Western Transport, a heavy hauling and rigging company in Odessa, Texas and later American Rigging and Construction, based in Dallas, Texas. Bill will be remembered most for his example of a Godly husband and father. His family wishes to thank his wonderful caregiver Anita Hall for her devoted attention and compassion, along with Harley Cohen and his staff at Right at Home. His family is also grateful for his nurse, Carolyn Phillips, and Heart to Heart Hospice. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Grace Bible Church; 11306 Inwood Road; Dallas, TX 75229 or East West Ministries; C/O Mike Fisher; 5924 Still Forest Drive; Dallas, TX 75252. Private graveside services at DFW National Cemetery. Memorial Services will be held at 2 pm October 18 at Grace Bible Church 11306 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75229.
