Thaddeus G. Durback

1937 - 2018

Thaddeus G. Durback, 81, of Macungie, died Oct. 17, 2018 in Lehigh Valley Hospice. He was the husband of Kathleen C. (Swank) Durback. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Labanz) and John Durback, Sr. He honorably served his country in the Navy from 1955 to 1959 and played in the US Navy Band. He worked in sales for A.P. Wagner Appliance Parts until retiring in 2002. He played the trumpet and sang with the Joe Timmer Orchestra for 30 years. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus and ushered for many years at the 10:30 Mass. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen; Daughters, Kelly Ann wife of Grant Doescher of The Woodlands, TX and Vicki wife of Michael Stengel of Cetronia; Twin Sister, Theresa Miller of Emmaus; Sister-in-Law, June Durback of Allentown; Grandchildren, Tanner and McKenna Stengel and Trevor and Skylar Doescher. He was predeceased by siblings, John Durback, Jr., Lawrence Durback, Irene Wagner, and Elizabeth Marchak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat., Oct. 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM in St. Ann's Catholic Church, 415 S. 6th St., Emmaus. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association, 161 N.
