Thomas Bonekemper Obituary
Tom was a member of the North Penn High School Class of 1960 and a graduate of Kutztown University and Hahnemann School of Medicine. He completed his Internship at Hahnemann and Internal Medicine residency at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem.
He was on the staffs of Quakertown and Grand View Hospitals while serving the Upper Perkiomen Valley in private practice from 1972-1976. His desire to help veterans led him to become the Chief Medical Officer of the VA Outpatient Clinic in Allentown where he served for 20 years.
Owing to his interest in medical/legal issues, Tom pursued a law degree at Southland University in 1985. He also enjoyed co-authoring Health and Safety for You, 5th edition in 1980 which received national recognition as the first high school textbook to stress prevention.
He was a co-founder of the Quakertown Blazers and served for 36 years. He was president of the ACBL from 1994 until 2020 when the League conferred the honor of President Emeritus. Over the years Tom received many awards nationally for his outstanding contributions and service to baseball.
Survivors: Son, Brian, grandson, Robert Brandon Hoffman (fiancé Kendra Wychakinas), twin brother H. George III (companion Joanne Hersh), brother Richard, sister Lonna Donaher (Ed), and sister-in-law Barbara Wiggin (Tim). Many cousins, five nieces and nephews and ten great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life at the Community at Rockhill, Sellersville, will be scheduled at a later date. Online condolences may be offered at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand View Health Foundation, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, PA 18960 or to Trinity Great Swamp UCC – Mission Outreach Fund, P.O. Box 494, Spinnerstown, PA 18968.

Dear Janice, Brian, and Family,
We were so very sorry to learn of Tom's passing. He was truly courageous and an inspiration to many. Tom was a remarkable man who brought a smile to everyone's heart. I am saddened to learn of Tom's passing. My sympathies to his family. I will miss his congratulatory and encouraging emails every time I won a harness horse race. He led a very interesting and meaningful life and will be sorely missed.

To the Bonekemper family:
Please accept my condolences on Tom´s passing. As an umpire since the late 1990s and recent assignor for the ACBL´s Quakertown Blazers, I was able to interact with Tom on many occasions over the years. He always treated me with respect and always stopped to talk whenever I was in Quakertown. His efforts were appreciated. I knew Tom had been ill for quite some time and I missed seeing him last month.
