I only learned of Vic's passing recently, and I did not have any of the details. Please accept my sincerest condolences. I considered Vic to be one of my better friends both at Caltech and Berkeley. He is greatly missed. Yours, Bill Tivol

It has been several weeks since Vic's passing and it has taken me a long time to come to the realization
Vic' was a great first cousin. I remember the trips to Huntington on Sundays
The drive seemed like forever (Sidney drove slow)
Any great times were had by all
Aunt Ruth uncle Abe were the most wonderful and always made us feel that their home was ours
I will miss Vic and his clever wit but mostly I will miss the special person he was
I love you always

Dear Louise,
I am so sorry for your loss. I'm so grateful that I had the chance to spend a bit of time with you and cousin Vic in San Diego earlier this year. Reading through his obituary and the condolences, it sounds like he touched so many people's lives over the years. Best wishes,
Alison

Louise
Joyce and I are so sorry for your loss. You and Joyce met at several A&WMA national conferences where Vic and I chaired sessions and presented papers wile you and Joyce visited the surrounding neighborhoods. Joyce and I hope that we can maintain our friendship. Vic and I became close in the later years as we led the local section of the A&WMA.

Dear Louise -- So sorry to hear this sad news. I was familiar with Vic, and met you both through A&WMA. He was a huge supporter and contributor to that organization, as well as a friendly face at the meetings. The obituary in the UT is beautiful and inspiring, especially regarding his dedication to his family living on through his children and grandchildren, the beneficiaries of his devotion. My prayers and loving thoughts are with you now.

Louise: I wwas sorry to hear from my brother, Jerry, that Vic has passed. I recall with pleasure his friendliness and cheerful disposition, as well as his wine knowledge, while we toured Russia some years ago. I trust he is at peace, and send my sympathy to you and the family.

Louise, Stephen, and Brian,
I'm still so sad to hear of Vic's passing. It is a great loss. Vic touched so many. He will be missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your families. I'm so lucky to have had Vic hire me at SAIC, and I will be forever grateful to have known him. He was very bright, innovative, and hard working. He was very dedicated, kept his division working hard, but he also always kept his of sense of humor and made me laugh. I will see you Thursday.
My deepest sympathies,
Linda Hunter

Dear Louise, It was with great sadness that I read of Vic's passing. That incredible mind silenced by Alzheimer's. What a loss. Great memories of our trip to Italy so many years ago plus all the concerts we shared together. My prayers for you both. I will see you at Vic's Memorial Service on Thursday. Jeanne Obenchain

Vic was an engineering pioneer. He applied computers to engineering before it became fashionable. He led those of us who worked for him to the frontiers of technology and beyond. Later, he took the public there on the Fleet Science Museum board.
