Victoria Hamati

Victoria F. Hamati, 87, of Allentown, was called from this life to join the angels in heaven on Sunday, January 29, 2017. She died in her home while surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jerusalem, Palestine, on November 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Eid and Jameela (Abujaber) Nassar. Victoria, a committed Catholic, was a nurse who took care of infants and children for the British Mandate for Palestine prior to her marriage to Fayez Hamati on January 15, 1957, when she left nursing to start raising her own 6 children. Survivors: Husband, Fayez; Children, Dr. Isam Hamati of Syracuse, NY, Dr. Husam Hamati of Danville, PA, Nadera Hamati, Nader Hamati, Basima Hamati-Attieh, and Dr. Naila Hamati all of Allentown; 12 Grandchildren; Brother, George Nassar; Sister, Evelyn Zilfou. She was preceded in death by a Brother, Dr. John Nassar. Services: A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton Streets, Allentown, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Allentown, especially to support education, infants and children, and immigration which were issues of importance to Victoria and her family.
