Wesley Haverkamp Jr.

1944 - 2017

Wesley Matthew Haverkamp, Jr., of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the home of his daughter. Wes was a 1962 graduate of Central Bucks High School, where he studied printing. Wes received an associate's degree in criminal justice from Bucks County Community College. In addition to running a printing business for many years, Wes served as a deputy sheriff in Bucks County and Chief of Police in Freemansburg. Wes served over 20 years as Chief Deputy Sheriff of Lehigh County until his retirement in 2013. Wes was a member of Le-Hampton Lodge 35, Fraternal Order of Police. Wes enjoyed refurbishing John Deere tractors, good food, and music. Survivors: Born in Abington, Pennsylvania on July 20, 1944, Wes was the oldest son of the late Wesley M. Haverkamp, Sr. and the late Mary A. Haverkamp. Wes was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth David; Lance Stephen; and Dana Andrew. Wes is survived by a sister, Mary Kay ("Katie") Warden (Michael) and sister-in-law, Barbara (Lance). Wes is also survived by four children, Charlotte Mae (Carvalho); Wesley Matthew, III; Heather Lynne (John Carpenter); and Andrew Edward (Holly); eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services: Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Lynnville UCC Church, 5129 Schochary Road, New Tripoli, PA 18066, where a celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. A luncheon will follow immediately thereafter at the church.
