Wesley E. Timmcke died on December 27, 2012. Wes was born on March 18, 1927 in Beloit, WI to parents Julius and Edna Timmcke. He was the third of five children with three brothers and a sister. He is survived by his sister Marilyn Folts of Beloit, WI. Wes was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Wes was employed by Air Products & Chemicals, Trexlertown, PA for 28 years, serving in many capacities. As Manager of Government Contracts, Wes negotiated the largest single Air Products contract to supply NASA with liquid hydrogen that provided fuel to the Space Shuttle Program, worth over $287 million. A highlight of his career included having dinner with President Reagan and the Astronauts celebrating the success of the Space Shuttle Program. He was an avid golfer and a member of Lehigh Country Club for 28 years.Wes was married to Jean Timmcke for 20 years with whom he had six children. Jean passed away in 1967. After three years of raising children on his own, he married Joan MacKenzie who was an English teacher at Emmaus High School with 2 children of her own. Wes and Joan celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on November 28. Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joan; children, Dr. Alan Timmcke and his wife, Terri of New Orleans, LA, Krisanne Michael and her husband Phil of Emmaus, Julianna Timmcke and her husband Craig Kauffman of Emmaus, Lisa Keller and her husband Craig of Kutztown, Carl Timmcke of Emmaus, Susan Edwards and her husband Bruce of San Diego, CA; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Wes was predeceased by his wife Jean; and children, Brian Timmcke and David MacKenzie. Services: A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus, PA 18049, on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 3 p.m. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the church.
