Bill married my husband and I in 2000 on Newcomb hollow beach in Wellfleet. No one will ever forget the sight of him in full kilt bag piping down the dunes through the sand and then performing the ceremony.
He was such a good sport. Loved talking about the homeland Scotland with him. We will always remember him and his kind spirit. I am sure he is playing the pipes in heaven.

My sympathies to Bill's family. He was my teaching colleague at Moravian Theological Seminary and I always appreciated his warm, professional, and scholarly approach to both ministry and education. As a bonus, he secured autographed pictures of Fred Rogers for my two daughters at the time when they were big Mr. Rogers fans. He was a wonderful man who will be missed but remembered by many.

We are so sorry for your loss. My husband and I first heard Dr. Barker at West Parish Congregational Church in 1995 while he was interim minister. He is the reason we joined that church. He was truly one of the most amazing human beings I've ever met - a true holy man who accomplished so much, so quietly and with much humility. I'm sure God has already put him to work in His house continuing the wonderful work he accomplished here. Bill - thank you for your inspiration. My husband and I are truly honored to have known you. Much love to you, Jean. Kim & Rob Moberg

Dr. Barker was an inspiration to me through his Christian commitment and his kindness to me. I am a retired pastor of the United Church of Christ now living at Moravian Village.

Maggie and I were so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. We "worked" with Dr. Bill on "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood," and he always brought such joy and sunshine to the studio. I know that Fred adored him, and that he welcomed him "home" to his new "neighborhood."
We hope God's grace will comfort you and be with you always.

I knew Rev. Bill from West Parish Family School in the 1990's. He was the interim Reverend. I was the Lead Teacher/Ass't Director at the time. My fondest memories are of him joining in on my 3-4 year old classes parades and parties. He was always aware of the up and coming activities in my classroom, always prepared! He would show up with a kooky hat on 'hat day',a pajama top on 'Slumber party day' or an adorable teddy bear for our 'Teddy Bear Picnic'. He always participated in most of our activities! He set the bar for what it meant to be a good, honest, caring person and Pastor! He was at WPFS only for a short time but made an incredible impact, as I'm sure he did everywhere he went. He was a truly wonderful man! I am so sorry for his families loss! My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
Sincerely,
Michelle McCarroll Cooley

I was sorry to read of Bill's passing. We met many years ago and discovered we were the same age and (3rd?) cousins! I remember a pair of large 19th century portraits of Bill's great grandparents in our living room and I think they now belong to my nephew. Not sure how we're related, but the name Caskey (my mother's side) rings a bell. I send my deepest sympathy to Bill's family.

Jean, John and Ellen - my heartfelt sympathy on the death of your beloved husband and father. I knew Bill as a member of Bower Hill; remember how he knocked on doors to found a wonderful church which is still just that; I'm still a member after 50+ years - we loved Bill; he was a great man and went on to do so many inspiring things; you had the blessing of sharing his life - he will be missed but not forgotten; he left so much behind for us to emulate - what a man -- God bless.

Jean, so sorry to hear about Bill. We were heart broken when he retired and you left Allentown. Bill always had time to kibitz with Gary and Gary thought the world of him. We will be praying for the family and that God will bring you comfort in the days ahead.
P.S. Curtis still has your love letter to your favorite carpet cleaner.

Rev. Bill Barker led my husband's memorial service in May 1999 and what a comfort he was then and in the months before and after. A treasured friend indeed, warm and wise.

Dear Barkers ....so sorry to hear of Bill's passing . We were quite close a few years back when we both worked on the Misterogers Neighborhood Show together . He was a very dear man and we had much in common particularly our love for music and jazz... I never realized that he started the Bower Hill Community Church right here in my neighborhood . I remember him fondly and my thoughts and prayers are with all of you ..

Just read about the passing of your father, John. Please accept my sympathy. Having never met your dad, I can only imagine that he was caring and had an unique sense of humor, much like his son. I hope that the memories of your dad warm you heart during this difficult time.
