William Schlicher Obituary
William M. Schlicher, 90, husband of Florence E. (Engelman) Schlicher, of Corning Road, Zionsville, died June 28, 2006. A son of the late Harvey and Verda (Gable) Schlicher, he was born on the family farm on Corning Road, Upper Milford Township, Lehigh County, where he was a dairy and crop farmer his entire life. He was a bus driver for Laidlaw Bus Company, Macungie, for 35 years, retiring in 1996. He was a lifelong member of Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville, and a member of Upper Milford Fire Company, Old Zionsville, and Woodman of the World Lodge, Bechtelsville. Survivors: Wife; sons, Donald O. Schlicher and wife Sandy of Zionsville, Dale W. Schlicher and wife Mary Christine of West Chester; brother, Eugene Schlicher of Allentown; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. A sister, Nora Boardman, predeceased him. Services: Noon Monday, Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5901 Kings Highway, Old Zionsville. Interment, Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Call 10 a.m. to noon Monday in the church. Arrangements, Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville. Contributions: Zion Cemetery, c/o Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 200, Old Zionsville, PA 18068.

Our family extends our deepest sympathy to yours during this time of loss. We have missed seeing Mr. Schlicher waving to us from the driveway for quite a while. My children will always carry fond memories of the "friendly neighbor in the little truck" while they waited for the school bus in the mornings.

To the Schlicher family:
We only new Bill from the time that we lived on Crown Lane, Powder Valley from 1971 to 1989. He always seemed to be available to plow our driveway after the worst snow storms or provide straw when we needed to cover our newly seeded lawn. In short, whenever we met Bill he had that great smile and personality of a fine human being. Our son always talked of Mr. Schlicher when he drove the school bus. He was a great guy and will be in Gods care.
