MADELEINE SCHREWSBURY Obituary

MADELEINE SCHREWSBURY Madeleine Merle Shrewsbury, 78, passed away peacefully in the home that she loved near Beallsville on Monday, June 9. She was born August 25, 1946, in Concord, Mass., a daughter of the late Lloyd and Natalie Muncey Bowers. Madeleine was a retired nurse. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving mother and a doting grandmother who was happiest spending time with her family. She enjoyed online chatting with friends, gardening, and also canning vegetables from her garden. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking pies which she lovingly served at family dinners and get-togethers. Madeleine's family was her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Shrewsbury; a sister, Sharon Hagan; a brother, Lloyd Bowers; a granddaughter, Brittany, and a great-granddaughter, Kayleigh. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, James Shrewsbury; children, Robert (Misty) Shrewsbury, Terry (Kurt) Stukbauer, and Cathy Owens; sister-in-law, Debbie Bowers; grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher, Jessica, Justice, Alexis, Hunter, River, Madison, Veda, Jimmy, Heather, Samantha, Erik, and Jared; also many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Honoring Madeleine's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. To celebrate her life, a memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at a time of the family's choosing.
