WILLIAM MAY

WILLIAM MAY William E. May, 94, of East Canton, Ohio, passed on December 10, 2025. Bill was born in 1931 to Chalmers and Jeanette May in Tiltonsville, Ohio. After graduating from Bridgeport High School, he served in the U.S. Navy SeaBees four years. As a long time resident of Monroe County, Ohio, he retired from Consolidated Aluminum Co. in Hannibal, Ohio, and owned H&R Block in Woodsfield and Barnesville, Ohio, for almost 40 years. Bill enjoyed making hand-tooled leather items and wood carvings. He loved riding his motorcycle. Bill is survived by his wife of 74 years, Cleda (Peterson) May; his children, Ronald (Gail) May, Cheryl (Joseph) Bihari, and Linda (Craig) Henry. Also five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, one sister and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceeded in death by a son, three brothers and two sisters. A private service was held at Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville, Ohio. The internment will be at Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove.
