LINDA GUEST Obituary

LINDA STEINER GUEST Linda Steiner Guest of Cascade, Idaho passed away at home on February 11, 2024 while holding her husband's hand. She was born on April 18, 1951 in Caldwell, Idaho to Harold and Dorothy "Jean" Steiner. Home was a cattle ranch in Owyhee County near Oreana. Linda and her older brother, Rex, were reared with lots of love and support. Her greatest passions growing up were spending time with her dog and riding her horse while checking the cattle and exploring the Owyhees. In 1960, Linda left Castle Creek's one room school when they joined with Grand View. She graduated in 1968 with thirteen of the finest people she proclaimed to have ever known. Linda deemed herself a fine veterinarian on the ranch and decided to pursue her RN degree at BSU. It was there, in 1970, that she met her husband Aaron. They spent their first date at the drive-in, talked thru the movie, and never stopped talking after. In 1972 Aaron and Linda were married and Aaron joined the airforce. Their firstborn, Kittric joined their family in 1974 while they were living in Arizona and Kyra arrived in 1976 in North Carolina. They moved to Tamarack Falls, Idaho and lived on West Mountain later that year. Rayne joined the family in 1979 and Skyler in 1982. Aaron and Linda were truly best friends and formed a unified and loving partnership that served as the foundation for raising their kids and created a lasting family bond. Linda returned to work as an RN in 1981 at what is now known as Cascade Medical Center. She loved serving the community of Cascade and treasured every moment with her loving, rambunctious family. As the kids left for college, she continued working at CMC but returned to college and eventually obtained her Family Nurse Practitioner degree. Her career as a NP was very gratifying and she enjoyed all the interactions with the community this afforded all of the years. She had a passion for helping others improve their health and well being. However, with the birth of her first granddaughter Nova, in 2009, she knew it was time to redirect her focus. She happily retired in 2010 after 29 years at CMC. It wasn't long before another delightful granddaughter, Luna, arrived. Linda cherished time with family and felt blessed that everyone remained close. She was incredibly supportive, always acting as a sounding board along with her husband Aaron whenever wisdom and life advice was sought. She was loving and joyful and had a sense of humor that she often joked was not cut out for fit society. She treasured time with her granddaughters, always mentioning how elated she was by their lively chatter. Linda was an active and engaged mother and grandmother in every conceivable way. She spent time outdoors with kids and grandkids skiing, biking and swimming. She also spent countless hours together sewing, cooking, reading, working on word puzzles or playing games, and attending sporting events. Her laughter and smile was contagious and loved by all. Survivors include her beloved husband, Aaron Guest, Cascade, ID; Linda's first best friend, her brother Rex Steiner, Oreana,ID; her son Kit (Maria) Guest, and granddaughters Nova and Luna, Cascade; daughters Kyra (Sid) Ferenc, Boca Raton, FL; and Rayne Guest, Dallas, TX; and son Skyler (Ely) Guest, San Marcos, TX.

Words can not express how deeply sad I am to hear of Linda's passing. I have known Linda and the Guest family since I was a baby. We moved to Cascade in 1982, we did not stay long but the Guest family were like family to us. I have some of the best stories and memories with Linda, Aaron and the kids. I am heartbroken, Linda was such a compassionate human with the best laugh and sense of humor. She will be deeply missed.

I remember after our Father passed Linda and Aaron brought my brother Chris and I to stay with them in cascade briefly. I see now you two were probably 25 at the time. So young...That was kind of you. I rarely saw you guys but Linda was always so vivacious I have positive memories of it. Thank you

Aaron, Kit, Kyra, Raine, Skylar, spouses, and grandchildren, I am so sad to hear about the passing of your wife/mother/
and grandmother.
She was such a knowledgeable healthcare professional for our community. She had a fabulous personality and gorgeous smile as well as a quiet demeanor when her patients told her about their
problems. I always appreciated
her listening, caring, and follow up skills and manner.
Aaron, when you and Linda were out walking FAST while holding hands, I could tell at a far distance that
was your special walking time. You both had a special "spring
in your step" that enabled both of you to cover distance at a good clip, which caused Linda´s hair to bounce up and down. She brought smiles with her and gave them when she met people!
She will live forever in your hearts, I send love and hugs with my condolences!!

To our beautiful caring friend Kyra, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. " Matthew 5:3-4
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace." Colossians 3:15.
I've read that the Lord may not have things go as we wanted or wished in this life, but Javier and I, Heather sympathize with you and your family over the hurt for the loss of your mom. As we read your mom's obituary we could not express enough over the sorrow yet beauty of what a tender heart your mom had. So we pray that through your grieving your heart sees what's beautiful about life, glimpsing each day with fondest loving memories of your mom. Our deepest sympathies to you Kyra we love you,
Heather and Javier
