VONDA SCHULD Obituary

VONDA KAY SCHULD We lost our beloved sister, mother, fantastic grandmother, and daughter Vonda Kay Schuld on July 13th, 2024 at the age of 65. Vonda was born in Moscow, Idaho to LeRoy and Jackie Inglis on January 1st, 1959. She graduated high school in Caldwell in 1977. She married Bruce Kirk later that year and they raised two beautiful daughters in McCall, Laura Kirk, and Leah (Kirk) Freeman. She and Bruce later divorced. In 2003 Vonda graduated from Boise State Unviersity to earn her BS in Human Resources. This was the same year her daughters graduated college. Vonda was born with a green thumb and was the ultimate flower child who had flower stands instead of lemonade stands and as an adult a lovely yard full of many colorful flowers. Her vegetable gardens were so productive she was able to feed family and friends as well as fill the cupboards with her canned goods. Vonda had a lovely singing voice and thoroughly enjoyed sitting around the campfire or livingroom to strum her guitar and have a sing-along. She was passionate about golf, especially playing with the family. In 2000 Vonda married and shared the rest of her life with Bruce Schuld in Boise, Idaho. They shared an adventurous life rafting, camping, fishing, and traveling. Together they could be counted on to find the best huckleberry and morel patches. Vonda also enjoyed exercising her hunting and fishing rites as a Niimeepoo (Nez Perce) tribal member where she harvested turkey, elk, deer, and fished for salmon with a dip net in Rapid River. She honored her elders and ancestors by taking a Niimeepoo name at a naming ceremony, and chose payoopayoo wenipt which means song bird. Vonda was preceeded in death by her father LeRoy Inglis. She is survived by Mother Jackie Paul-Inglis, her husband Bruce Schuld, her two daughters Laura Kirk (Ahren Zachary), Leah Freeman (Chad), her four siblings JR Inglis (Sandra ), Christopher Inglis, Patrick Inglis, and Suzanne Inglis-Gebhards (John), two grandchildren Ruby and Hudson, as well as several neices and nephews. Vonda will be remembered for her forgiving, patient nature. She was very giving of her time and energy, and often didn't know how to say no. She had the kindest, biggest heart, willing to love unconditionally; even her four onery siblings and stuborn husband. Her eternally positive nature will forever bring joy to us all. There will be a private memorial sevice for Vonda later in the summer.

We enjoyed Bruce and Vonda´s visits and attending music with them and so much more. What a great cook she was and a resource for all things in the garden. I loved her halibut recipe with squash and white sauce. The best! So proud of her heritage. We will miss her so much. Always cherish her friendship. Nina and Pat Trainor.

I´m so sorry for your loss Laura, Leah, and family. Vonda was an amazing woman of whom I have fond memories. She brightened my childhood with her songs and smiles. Girl Scout sing alongs were vastly superior when "Song Bird" was there. She will be missed, but not forgotten. Sending you all love and warm thoughts.
