Dixie Branton Obituary
February 20, 1932 - January 20, 2023
Dixie Lee Reece Branton, age 90, of Nebo, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2023, at her residence. She was born in Lee County Iowa, on February 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Louis Reece and Nettie Bowers Reece.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Edward Branton; two sons, Marty Branton and Tommy Branton; siblings, Louis "Bud" Reece, Jr., Bill Reece, Robert Reece, Clarence Creason, and Donald Reece; and grandsons, Brad Branton and Todd Branton.
Mrs. Branton loved reading, working with flowers, going to church, but mostly spending time with her family and friends. She attended Grace Baptist Church in Morganton, NC.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Ginger Queen (Skipper) and Jeannie Freeman (Donald); eight grandchildren, Kimberly Hipps (Bobby), Annette Byrd, Jamie Robinson, Jimmy Queen (Melody), Joe Bob Branton, Chad Freeman, Danielle Widener (BR) and Brandy Freeman; twenty two great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was scheduled for Monday, January 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service, with grandson, Jimmy Queen, and Pastor Marty Bess officiating. The family planned to receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service. Interment was scheduled to follow at the Muddy Creek Cemetery.
Flowers are welcome but those wishing to make a donation in Dixie's name are asked to consider the McDowell Pregnancy Care Center at 40 South Main St., Marion, NC 28752.

Ms. Dixie always had a sweet smile and kind word. Always a beautiful Christian Lady. Many good memories of her and Mr. Brandon over the years. May the Lord bless her family in the days ahead.
