Jesse Marlowe Obituary

Marion-Mr. Jesse Steve Marlowe, age 64, of Marion, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010 at Hospice of Rutherford County. Mr. Marlowe was born in Rutherford County on Jan. 1, 1946 and was a son of the late Bill Marlowe and Julia Hall Marlowe of Clyde. He retired as a sock wholesaler on the flea market circuit. Left to cherish Mr. Marlowe's memory are his wife of 43 years, Verna Tate Marlowe of the home; his mother, Julia Hall Marlowe of Clyde; two children, Susan Sluder and husband, Lee, of Marion and Scott Marlowe and wife, Nancy, of Orangeburg, S.C.; seven grandchildren; one brother, Mark Marlowe of Clyde; one sister, Margaret Anthony of Marion. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Wayne Toney officiating. The family will receive friends on today, June 2, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at 116 Carson Street. The committal will be in the chapel following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Verna Marlowe, 116 Carson Street, Marion, N.C. 28752. An online register is available under OBITUARIES at www.westmorelandfuneralhome.com.
