Lucile "Cile" Stubbs Morgan MARION Lucile "Cile" Stubbs Morgan, 93, of Marion, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Autumn Care of Marion. Lucile was born in Meridian, Miss. Feb. 12, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Daniel Hamer Stubbs and Lucile Aldaman Stubbs. Preceding Lucile in death was her husband of 52 years, Raymond Lyle Morgan. Lucile was very active in the community. She was involved with the McDowell Historic Society, DAR, McDowell Hospital Auxiliary, Carson House Board, Hospice of McDowell County, MACA, Lake City Garden Club, Siloam Presbyterian Church and 4-H Leader in Richmond County, N.C. Some of her hobbies included artist, woodworking and photography. She was McDowell County Senior Citizen of the Year in the year 2000. She also received the Governor's Volunteer Award in 1996. She attended Salem College and MTCC Graphics Class. Being this active in the community, she made a lot of friends and was a friend to many people. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Surviving Mrs. Morgan are two sons, Thomas Wyriot Morgan and wife, Susan, of Holden Beach and Ray Morgan and wife, Sue, of Marion; five grandchildren, Robert Hilton, Heather Hilton, Zach Morgan, Ronnie Gossett and Chris Gossett and wife, Chas; and two great-grandchildren, Sidney and Alyssa Gossett. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m. in Siloam Presbyterian Church in Old Fort, with the Revs. Pete and Martha Jane Peterson officiating.
