Mrs. Marjorie Pless Fesperman, 82, of Shelby died on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 at Hospice House at Wendover. Bitsy, as she liked to be called, was preceded in death by her parents, retired Supreme Court Justice James William Pless Jr. and Marjorie Kirby Pless; her brothers, James William Pless III, and Alan Davidson Pless; and by her sister, Ann Pless Lunger. Born Jan. 25, 1928 in Marion, she attended Saint Mary's High School, Converse College and UNC-Chapel Hill. She was a homemaker, member of the Junior Charity League of Shelby, the Cecilia Music Club and Shelby Presbyterian Church where she received the Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Clyde Covington Fesperman Jr.; her daughter, Martha and husband, Bill Noblitt; son, Mike; daughter, Jan, and husband Richard Dedmon; and daughter, Neal and husband, Mark Binion. Bitsy is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kirby and husband, Andy Crotts, Sally and fiancée, Cam Barnette, William and wife, Kathryn Noblitt, Molly, Will and wife, Leigh-Ervin Dedmon, Elizabeth, Rob, and Meg Binion; as well as three great-grandchildren, Drew, Lane and Winsley Crotts. A memorial service will be held at Shelby Presbyterian Church on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010 at 4 p.m. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. A private interment service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House of Wendover, 951 Wendover Heights Drive or to Shelby Presbyterian Church, 226 E.
