Chris is a native of McDowell, born Dec. 27, 1970.
Chris was a loving son, grandson, nephew, fiancé, and dad. It was in the course of caring for a family member that he became infected with COVID-19. He was a devout Christian and had faith to move mountains. A friend to all he knew, he truly believed our purpose here on earth is to help others.
Chris lived in Old Fort for most of his adult life. He graduated from East Burke High School in 1989 and Western Piedmont Community College. He worked in computer tech support for Q-Matic Corporation, now in Atlanta, and CXM Solutions in California. He was once selected as the Q-Matic Support Person of the Year for the United States, traveling extensively to the West Coast, Hawaii, Sweden, Canada, and the Philippines. His abilities allowed him to fix almost anything mechanical or technological. He loved solving problems and figuring out the challenge.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Margaret Shope Stevens, Fred Bishop Sr., Eunice and Lonnie Shotwell, and Dorothy and Lee Moore.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Gayle Stevens Bishop (Fred) of Old Fort and Larry Moore (Diane) of Old Fort; fiancée, Crystal Hinson of Old Fort; daughter, Carrington Harris Honeycutt (Luke) of Bakersville; stepsister, Tonjia Wenczel; grandfather, Carroll Stevens of Old Fort; grandmother, Virgie Bishop of Old Fort; special great-aunt, Dee Stevens of Old Fort; uncle, Randy Stevens (Margaret) of Old Fort; several cousins and his beloved shadow, Bandit, who followed every step he made.
