February 13, 1952 - January 7, 2023
On Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at the age of 70, Susan Nanney Leffé, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly at her residence.
Susan has been a lifelong resident of Marion and was born Feb. 13, 1952, to the late Clyde "Sam" Nanney and Ernestine Collins Nanney. She was secretary and treasurer of her family business, Linville Caverns, Inc. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Basilica of Saint Lawrence, Deacon and Martyr in Asheville and Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Marion.
She was preceded in death by her nephew, Jake Medford.
Surviving Susan are her sister, Sarah Davis and husband, Ronnie of Marion; nephew, Zack Medford and wife, Rachel of Marion; two great-nephews, Jake and Henry; and a dear friend and caregiver, Russell Murphy.
A private graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Marion. A memorial service and visitation will be scheduled at a later date and will be held at Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion. The services will be announced when finalized.
