Anna Nell McAdoo
May, 12, 1937 – Dec. 5, 2023
Anna Nell McAdoo, 86 of Checotah, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023. She was born to O.Q. (Shorty) and Tabitha Emerson on Wednesday, May, 12, 1937 in Bakersfield, California. Anna and her family moved to Checotah when she was a young girl in the 40's and she grew up here. She attended Onapa Schools.
Anna began working for the school for the blind in food service. Later, she worked for Jenks Public Schools as a custodian, retiring in 1990. After she retired, she began taking care of her parents. Anna married Whitey McAdoo on September 24, 1997 at Shady Grove Assembly of God Church.
She enjoyed traveling, fishing and gardening. Anna loved to cook, especially big holiday meals and desserts. She was very meticulous about cleaning her kitchen.
Anna also enjoyed watching baseball, OU football, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She was a wonderful, caring person, who loved everyone. Anna loved her brother's and sister's grandkids like her own family. She was a faithful Bible reader and loved the Lord. She attended Shady Grove and Texanna Assembly of God.
Anna will be missed by all that loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Whitey; brothers Jerry and his wife Jana Emerson; nieces, Tabitha Emerson and Crystal Gail Clark Byrd; step-sons, Ronnie and Charley (Ike) McAdoo.
Anna is lovingly survived by her siblings, Morgan Emerson and his wife Lorene and Betty McNeely all of Eufaula; Johnny Emerson and his wife Robin of Broken Arrow; Sue Brinsfield and her husband Danny, Janice and her husband Verny Clark all of Checotah; step-son, Ricky McAdoo and his wife Pam of Checotah.
